I’m sure that you are aware that your true business is marketing. No? Well, it’s true. You may be thinking right now, “I’m an accountant”, or” I’m a chef” or whatever. That may be what you do but if you don’t have an effective means of marketing what you do, then you won’t have that business for long because people won’t know about you. If you think that marketing distracts you from your “true” business or is boring, then think about internet marketing. It can be creative and fun way to get the word about your business to the public.

You may think that marketing and advertising is the same thing, but they truly are different in their scope. Advertising is how you get your business offer out to the public through newspapers, TV or radio. Marketing is how you brand yourself in the public eye. You can do this through writing articles, promoting a joint venture with another business, offering a special “member-only” promotion, etc. This creativity is what makes marketing fun! When you don’t advertise you can lose business to others who do advertise. What happens when you don’t market? The business with the better marketing is the one that captures the interest of the public.
Running ads in the newspaper and radio advertising gives you a very limited amount of space or time to get out your message. With
Internet marketing, you can be creative and dynamic with your advertising and marketing. You can tell your “story” on your website by using video, audio or both. This custom message has a better chance of converting that prospect to a paying customer because you are giving them more reasons as to why they should do business with you.

When people are surfing the web for your particular type of business or service they don’t mind spending extra time listening to a message or watching a video because they can do it at their leisure in their home. The more compelling the message the higher conversions (sales) you will have.

Still not sure where the fun is? It’s in all the creative way you can find to communicate your business through internet marketing. Whether you use social networking sites, video, audio, blogs or free reports you are limited only by your imagination. The best part is you can now have a world wide audience.
